More than a baseball hat…

The fusion of baseball merchandise and hip-hop culture has profoundly reshaped pop culture. New Era's iconic 59Fifty hat ignited not only baseball enthusiasm but also became a fashion emblem, amplified by hip-hop. Artists seamlessly integrated the hat into their style, using it to express their roots. As hip-hop surged in the late '80s and '90s, it reshaped pop culture, affecting music, fashion, tech, art, language, and global connections.—Making its influence on society is undeniable.

My affinity for the iconic 59Fifty stems from my love for hip-hop. At its heart, hip-hop captures the spirit of creating something meaningful from nothing. This streetwear staple perfectly mirrors hip–hop's essence– it symbolizes embracing where you come from to begin telling the story of who you are.

So who’s the of the best?

Earlier this year, media powerhouse Billboard compiled a list of the 50 greatest rappers of all time in honor of 50 years of Hip-Hop.

Although the list spoke to a wide range of influence and talent, ten goats ultimately rose to the top -- I decided to introduce these goats in an exciting way that further fused the culture of Hip-Hop with the love of baseball and repping where you come from.

Ultimately though 10 goats rose to the top, Find out who!

the Hip-hop 50 collection

The impact of Hip-Hop on New Era's iconic 59-Fifty cannot be overstated, as it played a pivotal role in elevating it to the status of a streetwear essential. This collection is a tribute to the trailblazers who shaped the genre and propelled the culture to unprecedented heights.
